Should Dnote support public notes?

Users used to be able to mark a note as public, then share a link to the note. The benefit was that the users could link other people to a piece of their knowledge with a URL. This feature was dropped with an introduction of e2e encryption.

In a personal knowledge base, linking to a note could be useful when communicating with others. On the other hand, such feature will require Dnote to store plaintext on the server. Because a cryptosystem is as strong as its weakest part, storing plaintext can become a point of exploit.

Personally, I believe that public notes does not fit the scope of Dnote project anymore. I would like to instead put more emphasis on encryption and privacy.

Feedback welcomed.
